Finney was born in Detroit in 1971 to the Blake family, at first, they were a loving family until their mother passed and their father became abusive. Ever since he was little though, he always enjoyed being an older brother to Gwen, even if they are only a year apart. They have such a close relationship, that he sometimes considers her his best friend. The Blake siblings, however, aren't like your average teenagers; they're gifted and because of those gifts, they saved a lot of lives.

After the events of what happened in Detroit, the Blake family packed up and moved to Indiana, Hawkins to be exact. Finney and Gwen are the new kids at Hawkins high, but that doesn't matter, it's all mundane compared to what they’ve been through. Finn was able to score a spot on the baseball team as the leading pitcher, so it helps with his PTSD, but he still has horrible nightmares once in a while. Especially since he suffers from survivor's guilt because he couldn't help the other ones.
He'd do anything to keep Gwen safe.
He doesn't trust as easily as he used to.
One day, he wants to either work for NASA or become an astronaut.
He misses Robin, so much it aches his heart.
Robin was his first-ever real love/crush, even if they were best friends. He's still grieving over that loss.
Finn is a straight-A student, even after all the events that went down.
